Hello! I’m Breanna Cox, an Art Therapist and Counselor in Kentucky. I have 8 years of experience and will have Individual Therapy available again soon.
I also plan to engage in community projects and workshops focused on Arts and Health.
My approach combines process-oriented Art Therapy with traditional Counseling techniques like Motivational Interviewing and Solution-focused methods. I specialize in Anxiety, trauma, and working with Neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD. My goal is to create a safe space for those who struggle with connection and belonging, whether in individual therapy or community settings.

In the past, I have worked with psychiatric populations, adults with severe Mental Illness (“SMI”), teenagers and young adults with self-harm or chronic suicidality, and people of all ages who find themselves in a new situation at home or work that is beyond the limitation of their nervous system. If you are someone that has been stressed, anxious, burnout, or depressed / anxious and need an empathic Therapist with “out of the box” methods but entirely person-centered and evidence-based – it is nice to “meet” you!

Why the name Creative Strength and Hope?
I believe that Creativity is not a talent that one is born with, but it is a way of being that is developing, growing, exploring, and creating through life. There are many methods and strategies that use a sense of curiosity that all humans have that also carry over to every day life. Some of these become mental and emotional strengths that lighten the load over time. In the toughest and grittiest times in life, when strength is difficult to maintain, then I believe that you have to hold on to H O P E. On my blog, I constantly look for articles I can share, books and resources, and artistic skills that also are parallel with daily task. You don’t have to be an artist to make art, or to engage in a creative spirit of exploration.

Reach out if interested in Creative Facilitation at a Community Event, or for Individual Therapy (Private Pay only at this time).
